No doubt that domestic refineries would help gas prices, but as mentioned above it's all about the price of crude. The real problem here are commodoties and futures speculators with more money than sense.

I read Matt Taibbi's article, and I agree wholeheartedly that the religious right has gone terribly wrong (check out my own experiences in my book "Fundamentally Misguided"). One of the chief brainwashing tactics of some of these "charismatic" groups is try to obliterate all sense of logic by declaring eveything which is not of God to be "of the devil." After all my experiences with the charismatic movement, I agree with Taibbi that this brainwashing technique works. And yes, I am also all-too-well acquainted with the so-called "prophecy charts" depicted in one of the above video segments. Just one of the ways they try to scare you into accepting "the Gospel," and you know what? It is these type of scare tactics that lead people to join apocalyptic cults.

If I'm not mistaken didn't John McCain vote AGAINST the President's tax cuts? This election will come down to the lesser of 2 evils. Who will raise spending less? Who will grow the Federeal Gov't less? Who is less likely to allow Iran and North Korea to aqcuire nukes? Who will raise taxes less? All the candidates are virtually indistinguishable on the issue of illegal immigration. What we have is a race containing 2 liberal deocrats and 1 moderate democrat.

Don't blame me. I'm writing in Pat Buchanon.

I can't understand why people hate her so much. So far I have done some research and she has not done anything to deserve to be hated like that. The media and politician do not really know why. I think she is a very smart person and she can make a difference. Obama is another person that is very smart and can make a difference too. Hate is the evil of all things and there are so many people in that club that is sad. Let's get along and peace to everybody.

I wasn't making a literary comparison. They are both printed books, and we expect all printed copies to be identical.

I'm not disagreeing with you...but I would like to point out that you compared The Grapes of Wrath - which apparently is a novel - to the Bible- which is not.
