I have made no endorsement for President. I need more time to make up my mind. But I’m curious about the disdain many people have for Hilary Clinton. At this early date, I neither support nor oppose her. But I also find nothing about her that suggests she would make a terrible President. I’m willing to give her a fair shake along with the other candidates. Perhaps you simply believe that someone else would make a better choice. If so, fair enough. But with regard to experience, intelligence, and political skill, she seems as well-qualified as any of the other front runners in both parties. For my part, at this point, I’m ready to compare her ideas and policies to those of the other candidates, and then make my choice.
But many people, in both parties, have already rejected her out of hand. So, my political friends, what’s the deal? What is it about Hillary Clinton that so completely turns you off?
This is a sincere question. I promise I’m not baiting you into a protracted debate. Say your peace, and be done with it. I’ll respond if needed. Hillary supporters can chime in too. Well-reasoned comments will be approved; senseless drivel will not.

I’ve disliked Hillary since day one as First Lady in the White House. I found her smug and arrogant, meddling and mean. Those are merely opening observations that pale compared to her self serving phoniness. As time wears on she appears dishonest, corrupt and uses her law experience to manipulate the system and her gender to manipulate the people. Her every move is devious and calculated for and only for her benefit. She overestimates her intellect and is alarmingly power and control obsessed. She is intentionally divisive which could be devastating for our fragile State of the Union. That’s what turns me off about Hillary Clinton.
I’m just an average 40 something woman who is a registered Independent.

I too am a centrist and admit that I voted for Dubya “both” times..the first time because I could not bring myself to vote for Al B(G)ore following 8 years of Bill Clinton’s “spin” ..and I did not vote for Bill Clinton either time because I saw him as “Slick Willie”..as for Hillary,..what experience?..8 years as First Lady?..and her carpet bagging move to NY to begin her self-annointed road back to the White House?..she is as “slick” a her husband and even less inspiring..at least he gave a good speech….her Whitewater real estate,Vince Foster,White House Travel Office purge, taking furniture adn other things when she left DC is just the tip of the iceberg of all the sleezy stuff she has/is imersed in..she thinks she should be annointed Prez over all the “little people” in this great country..and…she is an abrasive,cold,calculating..rhimes with witch..

I love Hillary! Nothing phony about her! And what is wrong with being smart? You don’t have to like her – Just appreciate all she can do for our great Nation!
No need to post – Just wanted to rant back at these people who so easily hate…

I long for the day that the worst national crisis we could come up with was Bill Clinton’s sexual antics. The people who couldn’t bear the thought of such are the people who gave us Bush the Younger, who didn’t wait very long to show us what a real national crisis looked like.
I was quite happy with Clinton’s presidency, and I believe a good part of that is due to the fact that he had Hillary for a wife. I suspect they stayed up late in bed many a night discussing matters of state as equal intellects; it was like having two brains for the price of one in the office of President. Integrate that with his desire to play with interns however you wish, although I tend to think the whole Monica thing was a sleight-of-hand magician’s trick so the public wouldn’t pay attention to the fact that we were bombing the crap out of Afghanistan. It worked too, the media covered the cum stains on the dress, but didn’t raise the issue of us trying to kill folk like bin Laden. We noted that the incoming Bush admin declined most of the typical briefings, but nobody has put two and two together there and realized that just maybe Bush shoulda listened harder to what the hell was going on.
So, I’m not terribly opposed to Hillary, as I think we’ll get both of them in the deal just like when Bill was prez. It was a good run once, it could be a good run again.
However, I worry about Hillary’s corporate campaign contributions. That piper will demand payment, and we have too many issues with corporations running things as it is.
Whoever wins the presidency, I pity them. Things have turned out so bad with the current administrations blunders…things with long-term consequences. For years to come, sitting presidents will wind up having to take the blame for things that found their origin during the past 8 years.

I think that most people “hate” Hillary for reasons that they can not logically point out to anyone other than those who agree with them. “Hate” her? What has she done? I think that one thing is certain that Bill Clinton’s presidency was the most investigated in US history. The subterfuge was effective because it worked to destroy the credibility of both the Pres. and his wife. Coincidence? We have other “respectable” Dem. voices in gov’t who have abandoned logic and careful analysis in favor of a “message.” They have dissolved the race into a race about race…and, of course, gender. Hillary has less investment in being the “first woman” than does Obama being the “first black”. He has a long tiring speech that spellbinds the unintelligent to a cause he has no ability to cure. Rather than having the class to step aside and allow a seasoned politician with a proven track record to begin working on this nation’s difficulties, he has transformed into a classic pedagogue spouting a litany of platitudes and promises.
I don’t think that Dems really “hate” Hillary but rather don’t like or trust themselves. The fact that Dems in leadership positions have allowed these past 7 years of numerous occasions of deceit to go completely unaddressed is absolutely cowardly. Think back to when we nearly impeached a president for a ***&** in the Oval Office and Ted Kennedy and alums have let this administration to just trudge on and simultaneously tread on everything this country once stood for. There is an old adage that you can’t really love someone else until you love yourself: apply this adage to most Democrats. Dems in general have become weak, lazy, disempowered thinkers and “lovers” when it comes to politics. I for one am embarrassed that I spent as much time thinking that they would be able to really figure out that they are their own worst enemies. I think that if Hillary loses this one, she and Bill BOTH need to pack it up and go on the lecture circuit. What is the point of being a loyal, committed civil servant with a proven track record if that is actually something that can be used as a form of liability instead of reliability. Good grief.

Hillary seems to represent the establishment’s default choice for the Democratic party. Obama is less known and perceived to be less experienced, but the flip side to that perception is that he seems to be more able to bring about change. I agree that there is a difference between what we hope for a candidate and what they are actually able to achieve, but I tend to believe that an inexperienced candidate with energy and intelligence, that is naive, but has big goals would grow into the role better than a cookie cutter old-school democrat running off the same talking points. I think if you’re looking for the more experienced candidate, its a conservative leaning desire. Theres nothing wrong with that, but I tend to think what we need in America is a large contrast from the last 20 years of politics.

I can’t understand why people hate her so much. So far I have done some research and she has not done anything to deserve to be hated like that. The media and politician do not really know why. I think she is a very smart person and she can make a difference. Obama is another person that is very smart and can make a difference too. Hate is the evil of all things and there are so many people in that club that is sad. Let’s get along and peace to everybody.
